This is ridiculously and awesomely over the top. I'm loving it, I'm confused by it, I'm intrigued by it. Scene changes every other second, a new style every other second, and the only continuity... your outfit. Oh man. You're taking us for quite a ride Mr. Koller. Keep pressing your limits buddy. Few artists out there are as adventurous, talented, and original as you 💪

What I love about these videos is that they bring so much whimsy and playfulness to the classical genre. Obviously Koller is a master of the classics, but what he'd done is use that classical training to create something new, to spark interest in what many see as a dead musical genre. Not only are the compositions slightly irreverent in the most delicious way, but the staging and the costumes help grab viewers attention. The man in red: Mozart? And his yellow case-- how ridiculous! The locations are beautiful, the music is intriguing, and am so, so glad I found this channel.

Kanye DeBruyne yeah I’ve been playing my whole life since 4. Treat it as a personal journey where your music and ability evolves as you evolve and grow. If you treat it like a competition youll probably get frustrated and miss the fun in the process. Good luck with your piano👍

Haha man that was wild! I'm going to make an intuitive guess that this arrangement was very influenced by Hiromi Uehara's music. It sounds like you really seamlessly fused a lot of the things she does together with your own style
@JacobKollerMusic6 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Nguyen although she’s obviously extremely talented I never enjoyed listening to her music. Some of my influences are Squarepusher, Frank Zappa, Vince Guaraldi, Keith Jarrett, Aphex Twin to name a few.

Very fascinating. I love her music but can totally understand why some people aren't great fans of it. I could literally name at least a couple of her tracks where certain parts of your arrangement's rhythmic structure and style are eerily similar. Coincidence maybe....

Yes almost all the great composers improvised and arranged. I'm not sure if Mozart would like this or not but I'm sure he'd prefer that his music doesn't sit in a museum.

The sound is crystal sharp throughout, it had to have been recorded in a studio. Those pianos sitting out in the woods must be hard to play because their sound has all gone to shit. Plus the noise of drones flying overhead. I feel bad for the editor trying to splice the video perfectly with the soundtrack. Overall, a professional job well done and no doubt an expensive production.

Michael Glossika yeah. It was time consuming to say the least. Fortunately my brother is a videographer and he taught me how to edit so I edited it myself.

Marquitos what would you call it out of curiosity? To me jazz is a loose word and there are so many styles within it that I think it fits closer than any other word.

Jacob Koller / The Mad Arranger, there u are. There are many styles as u said. Call it free style if u wish :) An arrangement. But it isn't jazz as it has created. It is still pretty nice, why should we worry about how to call it so? :)
@sophieranma6 жыл бұрын
more like contemporary classic, with the way you created the base notes. your arrangement has clusters and polychords that give contemporary styles like Stravinsky's. I am a pianist myself and enjoyed listening to your performance.
