so far the best instruction on PArt IIc on the Internet. I am full invested in learning this music piece by Keith Jarret. I love your own rendition, you make it easier to learn. Thank you Ron

Thanks for your kind words. I first learned this tune when I was about 15 years old. Luckily, the internet hadn't been invented yet to overwhelm me, so I figured out how to play it myself, based on the lead sheet. SOmetimes the simplest way will take us far. Good luck with your music!

Having been both pro guitarist and drummer, covid lock down was time to take up piano more seriously, thanks for your vids, so helpful...at the age of 74 done a couple of gigs. Including a little Jazz gig with a sax player and played this tune, thanks for the inspiration...

Hi Glenn - It's great to hear how you used the lockdown to dig deeper into your piano playing. Good luck with the gigs!

Oh my... so much warm heart in there, Ron. An emotionally charged and wonderful rendition. The home key feels like such a welcoming and needed place.

It's wonderful how he begins each section elsewhere, and then returns to C major.

Love it! Some music just sounds so purely... American. Aaron Copland, Keith Jarrett and your version of Memories of Tomorrow for sure. Thanks for sharing this!

Very moving, Ron. In this music you're in your element. Even the piano sounds different, louder and crisp. Brings back memories of like 3 years ago when I painted while listening only to the Köln Konzert. Thanks.

Thanks! That's a great idea to paint to music. I wonder how directly the music influences the painting.

@@rondrotoskeyboardimprov9453 i found the music put me in a certain frame of mind, also stopped this constant internal dialogue and helped me to simply paint.

So beautiful, Ron. Also love your comment about viewing the "unexpected" in one's playing a gift to be explored. Thank you for sharing - both your history with the piece and the playing itself. Inspiring, as always!

@@rondrotoskeyboardimprov9453 It's amazing how long it can take to "get" some of these tunes. I have ones that I've been dabbling with for years before they start to work. Keep up the great work.

Lovely, Ron. Thanks. I particularly enjoy the overhead shots of your hands. I love watching your relaxed left hand and the ease with which you play tenths. Are you gifted with large hands, or have they just learned to relax for that stretch with time? Also nice to learn that Keith Jarrett inspired you to go into music. Thank you, Keith!
@rondrotoskeyboardimprov94532 жыл бұрын
Thanks Randy! I can play most of the 10ths comfortably, but not all of them. Over time, my left hand reach has stretched slightly, and the span is wider than tat of my right hand. Keith Jarrett has a great story about that.
