@@rondrotoskeyboardimprov9453 I’ve listened to their Columbia studio recordings. It’s beautiful, although not the type of music that I would listen with full attention and immersion. But if it’s being played as a background to specific situations in life - it’s indispensable

Lovely . Enjoyed that Ron. Thanks. Reminded me of Miles saying "play like you don't know how to play" to come up with unheard of sounds., afresh. Thanks again.

@@rondrotos5285 I listened to the original recording and it reminded me the album Last Session with Sting, which I discovered thanks to my wife some twenty years ago. I remember how this out-of-tune trombone section fascinated me. No idea that it is referred to as modal jazz. Thanks again! It is an honour to watch your videos.

@@daliborlukas1700 Is that the live album with Little Wing on it?
@daliborlukas17003 жыл бұрын
@@rondrotos5285 On the album cover there is a large picture of Sting playing guitar and a small one of Gil Evans. As I learned It had been a live performance at a jazz festival in Italy 8 months before Gil Evans passed away. I got a link but it is pretty long.

@@daliborlukas1700 Yep, that's the one I've heard. I was at that festival in 1988 when I was Gerry Mulligan's assistant and he played there with his big band. That's a great performance!
