Can you please do an example regarding heat transfer from solar radiation through a roof deck, then into a sealed attic with closed cell insulation on the rood deck underside ? What would be the temperature inside of the sealed attic? If the outside temp is 95 deg ? Assuming asphalt shingle roofing and a 5/8 thick plywood deck

Ron, please check your conversion of Joules to calories. My references (google ane PE ME handbook) show kcal = 4186 J, or cal =4.186 J, not 1cal=4186J.. Such that astronaut would need ~34,000 calories/hour - now thats a much healthier diet, and also a good explanation of why spacesuits are temperature-controlled.
