I have found another great Indie game!! All you need is a couple of dice, the rules, a pencil and eraser, and your imagination...

Part 2 - Journey continues to its conclusion!!
Create a Ronin warrior and lead him/her on a journey of redemption, and/or revenge. From traveling the wilderness, fighting enemy Samurai, Ninja, Spirits, Kappa and more, to town and city encounters, you will bring the saga of your scarred and nightmare-ridden hero to an end... one way or another!!
A "Narrative Solo Game" consisting of 30 pages and whole lot of fun, this game can be picked up on DriveThruRPG as 'Pay What You Want' (at the time of recording), but is recommended at $5.... and it is well worth it IMHO.

I'm early/midway through my first Ronin adventure about a fat ronin (i picture somewhat like taller Uncle Iro ) covered head to toe in bandaged-wrapped burns. His family was killed in the fire that burnt his home down, machinations of one of the Clans after the Shark Clan his village owed fealty to was destroyed. In the land, the power vaccuum is being filled by the other Clans fighting for the territory. He has nightmares of a grasping kraken killing a shark, and is slowly learning that the Octopus Clan has been manipulating events from the shadows. He attempts to be merciful and forgo violence in his wanderings but has been forced to kill at times. He has acquired bonds with a few people met in his travels. One of note is a young girl who was the daughter of a bandit he spared, but who attacked him again and was slain. She took up her father's naginata and sought Yoshiro the Ronin for revenge, but eventually came to see the truth that her father's lifestyle led to his own death. (She would eventually be the follow-up character when Yoshiro's story reaches it's end...if events don't dictate otherwise). Yoshiro has yet to encounter any of the villains but has gained 2 Innocents and a mentor. He has become known as Oni Yoshiro, the Left-Handed Ronin due to a long cut to his right arm and the mask he now wears to hide his burnt face combined with his unwavering duty to bring his family's killers to justice. Yoshiro uses the duel wield style and learned the Jitte. (I actually melded this where he now uses one jitte as his off-hand so uses the default dual-wield style with the bonus of breaking enemy weapon on a tie from jitte...Rule of Cool). He mostly ignored repeat rumors of wild animals terrorizing farms as not his concern but eventually faced off agsint what turned out to beca yokai...it didn't end well but he persevered. Due to the circumstances he finds himself in and his reluctance to turn a blind eye to suffering before him, his reputation is reaching a level where an encounter with the first villain will likely happen soon. All this happened through random rolls - which Clans are active in the story (Frog, Wolf [the upstart clan without noble heritage], Octopus and Lizard [the dominant clan], as well as the destroyed Shark) the nightmares of an octopus, and the developing story of the encounters has all been stitched from the table results, and has been great fun. It's been located near the coast due to the Clan names and such events as destructive storms ravaging a settlement or entering a pirate haven have turned up, further adding to the saga.

Stater playing this last night after seeing these videos. Great game, great writing exercise! It feels to me what Pick-a-Path always wanted to be, as it attains a level of interaction and imaginative input that the books couldn't. Also, the Decemberists' Crane Wife album is pretty good accompaniment to this game, for mood if not culture. Thanks, Bane!

Yep, purchased it a while back, and have it printed out and bound. Have played some games of it already, and it is in the queue for recording for the channel. There are just too many great games out there, and my schedule is packed!! It should be coming to my channel very soon, just have another couple of things to do first. 😁
