I think that Jessie using Exploud and it listening to Jessie, is more like the battle between Ash’s Charizard and Blaine’s Magmar. A Powerful rival to the Dispobidient Pokémon that the Pokemon decides a person thinking more strategically about how to win and a second pair of eyes are the best thing to use for this particular win, and not permanently listening to their trainer yet, but a vision into the future to see what this team will be like when the Pokémon and trainer see through their differences and work together
