It's the longevity of the tournament makes all these unpredictable outcomes happen, Only the Crucible has a longevity all the other tournaments are way too short.

Im sorry but this is not the ronnie/rudd show. This is the world snooker championships and ronnie and judd got knocked out. Its totally disrespectful and completely ridiculous to assume that the more popular players will get through, if people are only interested in specific players then they should go and pay to see them in exhibitons. REAL snooker fans want to see REAL snooker played by the players who win their matches and get there on actual merit. Go watch a highlight reel on youtube and we'll stick to watching the semi finals and final.

@michaelleigh2076 - I think u misunderstood my post. I never said anything about the playas who got through to the semis not deserving their wins. They got through fair and square. But the fact remains that the top seeds all got knocked out early and most of them played poorly, hence there are 3 qualifiers in the semis for the first time in history. Judd and Ronnie were poor and deserved to lose but REAL snooker fans would have loved to have seen a semi final between Ronnie and Judd, as that is what brings excitement to the sport - top playas playing against each other towards the end of tournaments. But it's a great opportunity for Wilson, Gilbert, Jones and Bingham to fight for the final now.

The sport wasn't picking up the viewership in the UK 2006 to 2018. The ratings dropped the only person that got the ratings was Ronnie. Maybe if Paul hunter was still alive he would have bought it to the next level. Rip

Noooo. Would have been amazing for snooker if Ronnie got 888 all in the same season! Crazy how Bingham disappears completely off the radar and occasionally randomly gets some form at the Worlds! A shame now as a showpiece event that interest now severely declined. Then even though 4 decent players left, will be crazy next season one of them will be World Champ whilst possibly dropping back to being bang average and not threatening many tournaments. I guess although it’s the World’s it’s like any tournament that someone can come from nowhere and have their 1 perfect miracle week!
