Sad that an entire show is programming to be run from a laptop and they don't have a backup. One of the easiest things to do. There's a reason electronic artists treat their laptops and storage drives like they're carrying gold.

Its an understandable fuck up, one time, anything beyond that and it's like how weren't these guys more onto it, like it's a lesson to have backups for multiple reasons, that means not keeping them stored together, it means keeping shit on a cloud. I have no problem using laptops on stage, for things like click tracks, midi syncing, virtual synths, sampling software, DMX programming, etc. I also have no problem with backing tracks, but I guess what I don't like is when a band completely drowns out their sound with tracks, especially when you could have a lot of those sounds triggered live by having a keyboardist on stage. In FIR's case, they don't do that. They use only an appropriate amount of tracks, and everything else is done right on stage, and they put on a great fucking show
@djjazzyjeff12324 ай бұрын
Agreed and it happens remarkably often that a band is drowned out by their own tracks. Idk if it's incompetent FOH mixers or what but it's like you've got a good mix otherwise just pull down the fader wtf is wrong with you?? Honestly I think it's because most people can't sing worth a fuck, it's a very rare skill to be able to do it night after night after night. So they just hide the vocal behind everything else including the tracks.

I can love and appreciate anything from black metal, death metal, industrial metal, 70's and 80's heavy metal, power metal, metalcore, viking metal, etc. There's so many different genres that can unite millions of people with different tastes under the same label. That's a beautiful thing that no other genre can accomplish.

Excellent performance. Screw those that don’t understand how playing live music depends so greatly on computers for so many aspects of their performance. I enjoyed the show and the entire 4 days of Aftershock.
@Amb223 It's brainless and very tunnel visioned/old fashioned to not consider a laptop one of a hybrid rock/electronic/rap bands instruments. DJs use laptops these days, that's their instrument of choice to make music, should they have 20 odd people on the stage creating the sounds otherwise it's a rip off? It's 2022 buddy, not 1950.
@mikepriestey25472 жыл бұрын
@Amb223 How isn't it a live show...? Guitars, drums, singing, performance all live, having a laptop to fill in the tracks suddenly means that it isn't a live show? Are you dumb? I'm guessing you want every band that has ochestral sounds in certain songs to have full orchestras, every band that has electronic mixes to have 20 people on the stage creating the sound? Motley Crue, Shinedown, U2, Rush, Disturbed, Queen to name a few all use/used backing tracks for live performances, they were still live performances you fool. Nightwish are incredible live, do you expect them to have a full orchestra and a full choire for every show? Honest to God, common sense is so rare in 2022. 🤦♂️
