I now listen/watch these podcasts anticipating Larry’s reactions to them. When Ronny said his family didn’t take trips, I immediately knew this was gonna be a rough episode for Daddy Boy. But in Ronny’s defense, a 23 year trip from Manchester to Malaysia is probably the longest trip in this podcast’s history.

I would be hard pressed to say which comedian and human that I adore more, Seth Meyers or Ronny Chieng. I refuse to choose. I kept searching for this all week on KZbin and then it just showed up in my feed.🙏 Grateful for you gentlemen!

I loooove Ronny! And loved hearing his stories here because I finally got a better understanding of why his comedy strikes such a chord with me even though he’s I guess not technically American (yet! Haha we’ll get you Ronny! 😆 jk). I feel like Ronny is actually very American, especially POC experience, with a lot of his childhood experiences and the way English rooted for him first as a native language since his formative language years were here. And I’ve heard him speak about his “terrible Chinese” that he has to break out lol, and can relate hard as a kid who grew up with English as native language but having teachers and community of my ethnicity get angry at me not being fluent in Spanish or knowing native indigenous words etc. All this to say that growing up bilingual/bicultural is so nuanced and diverse and it’s fascinated me when I see others navigate that well like how Ronny does. Loving the podcast y’all! ❤

Chinese-speaking people can be quite judgey about not speaking English when you've grown up in North America so I can relate to how hard that must have been. In Malaysia once was in a huge hawker centre and the lady getting drinks and bussing tables literally went through three languages in the space of two seconds watching my eyes for that look of understanding to see which one she should use with me, with that disappointment that it was only going to be English. At least in Singapore, English is an official language, and it's everywhere.

Josh if you did PDT be careful with the light until the medicine fully absorbs. The screens and light can make it worse. Talking from experience. I'm healing from efudex/calcipotriene treatment which targets pre cancer cells and it's no fun! This 50 year old skin grew up in Newport Beach. Lived in Colorado for 5 years and has been in Central Oregon for 25 years. Ugh! The outdoors are awesome and they sure do take a toll on the skin! Best of luck with it all!
