I was also disappointed that the Scars/Seraphites story didn't really go anywhere. I really thought they were going to be a major antagonist within the game. I didn't catch onto the good vs bad Scars btw until you mentioned it. Interesting. It also reminds me of the museum chapter, where Ellie sees all the graffiti on the wall. Then we come to find out that it was a young person who joined the Fireflies who wrote the graffiti. We find his skeletal remains with a note and spray can beside him. During my first play through, after reading that note, I contemplated if it was foreshadowing what was to become for Ellie. Was she going to end up alone like him? And at the end of the museum chapter Ellie and Joel see a Firefly logo on the wall with "Liars" spray painted beneath it. Then it dawns on us that certain factions of the Fireflies were evil AF!!! So ya, I never noticed this with the Scars. I will pay attention to that during my second play. Thanks for pointing it out. I'm aware of the mirroring you're talking about. It's done quite a bit within the game. There's multiple layers, so-to-speak. I have my own conclusions but it will be interesting to hear yours, to see if we have similar interpretations. I still think it sucks!

The Seraphites are a cult. Lev and Yara are born-in cult members. Lev cannot choose who he is and so is forced to be who he is plus, as Abby brings up, Lev isn't one for following rules. But the fact remain that he is in a cult. A true believer. By his action he is excommunicated , shunned and sentenced to death by the leaders. Yara chooses the love she has for Lev over the cult but, they both are, at least in the beginning, still true believers and followers of Sera and so have to justify the choice to leave the group. This is very typical with cult members at the beginning of their journey of deprogramming and exiting a cult. For many it's hard to comprehend why someone who is otherwise a good person would go along with such horrible acts. Simple fact is that they are brainwashed from birth or by indoctrination. But for those like myself, who have been in a cult, it makes total sense. I was born into a cult and I didn't get out until I was 38. The writer(s) of this part of the game, either had first hand experience or really did their homework on cults. IMO they nailed it.

You are right about the problems in story writing with Lev and Yara. Lev not only wanted to become a warrior even though knowing about their disgusting habits but he wanted to become a warrior like Yara so she was already fighting.

4:02 Wasn't that the Scar village being attacked by the WLF? I'd assume that the WLF would not send all of their people to attack so there should be Wolves left. So I guess Abby did not return there because she killed Wolves and not necessarily because no Wolves were left.
@RonnyHazeMAPP

Yes, the WLF attacked Scar Island and there is actually dialogue that stats Issac is calling in ALL WLF to attack the island. So, IMO, a lazy way to say most or all of them are wiped out.

@@RonnyHazeMAPP Ah, missed that. Thanks for clarifying. Lazy writing then indeed. As if all of them could even fight... didn't we see a whole class of little children at one point? And old people? Now that I think of it, that makes your point even worse. Not only is Abby killing the WLF soldiers but also leaves the innocent unprotected because of it...

There is still some WLF remaining after their failed attack on the Seraphites' island. Maybe little to none at the FOB, but there was definitely WLF still at the football stadium like the "support staff" and children.

Lol it's literally an explanation of the PLOT. Imagine how dumb it would sound saying He shaved his head and the cult didn't want him to be a he. All so we tiptoe around "she." It's a simple sound used solely to communicate.
@yumartins7872
@yumartins7872 7 ай бұрын
@@RonnyHazeMAPP That would not be dumb. That would be respectfull. Do you think a word is more important than having respect for human beings? (I know Lev is not real but the people he represents are very real human beings. I am real). That's a genuine question. Although is a question to make you think, not answer. We're not in a English test. We're not talking in Nasa terms. We are people talking on internet. We can have some tiptoe with words and still understand each other's because we're not stupid. Having fucking respect matters a lot.

Idk if it woukda made the story better but maybe i I woukda liked it more if after yara and lev runs from the scars yara is attacked by isaac and him and a few wlf are the ones who breaks her arm but abby is the one that kills them and lastly isacc but no one else knows and abby becomes the new leader and she makes new laws against the scars or something. Hey Ronny I LOVE the content your pumping out but can I ask- why push all these videos out in a 24 hour period? You could have scheduled all these videos to premier like every Friday or something for the next several weeks, a video a week- that way your channel would have been putting out consistent content, and it would have given you some extra breathing room to work on more content like flaw and aws. Not judging dude, grateful for the content, I’m just trying to understand the strategy tho

The true purpose on why they are who they are is the narrative that religion is bad and new age is good. The point of this game is to push contemporary progressive propaganda and shit on the old way of doing things. Ellie leaves Joel's instrument indicating that he is to blame for all her problems. Joel's mannerisms and reference to the Lord is symbolic as well. He is this fatherly figure in spirit who Ellie kills for, representing GOD. The point is to make religion look bad and LGBT/Feminism/New Age look good. Evidence of this, 1:26 They essentially crucify people and maim them. It's a shot at GOD like all other media out here being pushed.

It's called... communication. Saying a boy wanted to be a boy is illogical. Fact. Lev was born a female. Fact, Lev lived as a boy (ie opposite of existing reproductive organs at birth.) Words exist solely to "communicate clearly."

The video isn't about lore. It's about story progression and purpose... might have seemed rambling cause you were too triggered to focus I guess?

@jasperblake8415 3 жыл бұрын
@@RonnyHazeMAPP when someone mentions being "triggered" and then refuses to acknowledge and apologise for what they've done, it shows what kind of person they are. Also I never said that the video was solely about lore, but you ignore the lore DESPITE its integral purpose in the story. It is actually the lore that shows a lot of the deeper meaning and symbolism of the story. So when someone doing a commentary on "story progression and purpose" doesn't do their research into the lore it's a big yikes.
