So refreshing to find someone that favors the double triggers. Tells me you're a hunter and not just a clay bird shooter.

Dear Ron Would you consider taking a 45-70 to Africa? Just hypothetically. I know that many other cartridges are much better as far as range goes, but in the brush of Africa do you need long range capabilities? By the way I know not all of Africa is brush.
@RonSpomerOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Depends on your load and bullet and the habitat. Many parts of southern Africa are as bushy as the plains of eastern Montana.
@Mark-uq9km3 жыл бұрын
@@RonSpomerOutdoors Ron, you're being diplomatic with your answer about using a .45-70. I'm not saying a .45-70 wouldn't be an effective weapon in Africa. It could be. But, as you well know hunting in Africa is always subject to variables beyond anyone's control making the .45-70 more of a liability than asset. Why spend thousands of dollars on the hunt of a lifetime and take a weapon that is effective only in limited circumstances? I have two .45-70s and really enjoy shooting them and getting the snot kicked out of me. But for Africa my .375 H&H Magnum goes and even that is on the minimum size for dangerous game. I am a fan of the .416 Rigby and maybe someday I'll have one in my gun safe. The Fabarm side by side is an awesome little shotgun. Thanks for the video/post. All my best to you.

Not that we have all that much upland bird hunting here, we don't. To tell you how bad it is, I saw my last Ruffed Grouse on my property in 1974! They are great guns, the 20 especially. I have a 12 and it needed a little stock weight to balance just right but it's a nice, nice shooter. Factory chokes pattern great, and having 5 is awesome. Mine has especially nice wood, should be on a much more expensive gun. I prefer extractors (hate seeing shells out in the field). I also prefer double triggers. My only complaints are that the safety comes off a little too easy now that it's broken in and the laser checkering is just not the same gripwise even though it looks very clean. I found mine new for 475 so I shouldn't complain one single bit. CZ customer service is the best I've ever dealt with.

When you buy a gun like yours you pay more for less. Making a two barrel gun that weighs around 5 or 6 pounds is going to cost more especially it being a 20 gauge gun. And finding one you can shoot well is harder yet. However; when you do; it is like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Lots of American guns tend to be made on the heavier side with exception to older ones not made anymore. I wish Ruger would make Red Label ones again. 🍁

The price can not be justified when you take into consideration the actual cost of materials, labor, machining etc. They command that kind of money because of some hunters stupid enough to pay the exorbitant price.
