I saw him in Lebanon years ago and he was playing a variety of percussion equipment. He was most wonderful. He left, due to lack of appreciation. if this is Lebanese style of playing I respect that but Turkish players are far superior than this. So, before anyone says that this is the best performance I've seen in a long time I suggest you watch Turkish guys like Onur il and Misirli Ahmet and say whatever you have to say after that.

Hiya folks - does anyone know the make of tabla Rony is playing here please? Also - I have to say different nationalities have different styles on this drum. Surely it's in the ear of the beholder? Personally I think this a very tasteful and musical solo...

Lots of common rhytms but yeah different styles/tastes across countries. Rony Barack sounds a bit "out there", I don't think his performance represents Lebanese folklore. The following is common in lebanon, rhytmic, powerful, upbeat: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4KYl6h-qZhroMk

goPlay is right. Although there are alot of lebanese styles, the one he linked is the most common. It is mostly associated with weddings and happiness-events. But there are also more calm styles.
