I decided to head to Roodeplaat Dam and go do some fishing. It was my first time fishing at Roodeplaat and Definitely not my last... WOW, what a day.

Hi Robby. So if that Combo doesn’t produce fish, which is seldom but some days it doesn’t. I will try Kiana and Paint with plain yellow floats or normal Garlic floats. Looti and Vicks, Devilsfork and FX, honey and Perdeby. Lipstick has given me some great fish in the past. If all else fails a plain ball with garlic floaties on the bottom and Perdeby floaties on the top hook. I fished this weekend and man, I struggled.

Lipstick is a very fruity berry type of dip with floro in. Give it a try, once you smell it, you gonna want to eat it!😁

Might want to consider oiling the reels bud looks like the drag a bit sticky

I know, it was really not up to standard, even my drag at the back was sticky. The reels are in for a service at least.

Hi. Did you clip in your line at certain distances? Or did you just cast normally every time? Did you do one rod deep and one rod shallow? What was your strategy?

I always do one deep and one short, the short one I clip in but stand about 5 meters from my box and cast, this give me the extra line if there is a reel run.

@@francoisdevries1 so the deeper rod will be between 80-130meters, so with a black marker pen, I will check this distance, it’s all pre measured, so I play around with the deeper one, I will cast 80, then 90, 100 and so on, to just see what’s out there. If I am just doing a social fun day out, the distance rod is open tapes but the short one is always measured. I don’t always show the far rod measurements because some casts I don’t get it in the clip because it’s a kak gooi. But ja, the close rod o work hard on.

It’s on the Kamelfontein rd, Cast & Catch is opposite Sable Hills estate. It’s the east side of the dam.

It’s a Garlic and TCP mix, it’s jumbos version of Supercasts Sniper.
