Why so many nails along that upright in the truss in the beginning of the video? Is that code? Any rhyme or reason? Freakin love your videos man. Hope to see more newer kick ass content from you in the future. Rock on ! 🤘

I've noticed that a lot of framers and roofers will often drive two nails right next to each other. Why is that? I'd have thought that spreading them out more would distribu6e loads better.
@klincoln803 жыл бұрын
The answer is carelessness. More concerned with speed then they are with quality and accuracy. Don’t get me wrong, I admire the skill and ability but I admire your craftsmanship and quality much more.
@michaelbeausejour32023 жыл бұрын
Usually to start a new sheet you put two together so it holds but you can still move it to line up the other side
@SpaceOfWaste2 жыл бұрын
In the beginning of the video he’s doubling up the trusses with 2x4s on each side when I had to do that my plan said 2 nails every 6 inches thats also why he said it s a waste of nails lol
@youmertz2 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's a shear-strength thing. Each nail adds a specific increase to the shear load capacity of the structure. While spacing them out would probably be better, I guess 2 side by side still gives you the necessary shear strength rating?
@KimJongChill3 жыл бұрын
I just frame decks and porches but this looks WAY more interesting, how did you learn to the point of being able to do this self employed?
@jasonhull21633 жыл бұрын
Most people learn the trade by working for other companies first for a few years then take a huge chance to establish their own construction company. It’s really hard to do this nowadays. Beast said in one of his videos he’s been framing since 2002. He was young when he started.
