I beat 6-1 through 6-4 with only fume-shroom, cactus and melon-pult, no doom-shroom and with 9 seed slots. It is very much possible and I would even argue it's easier as it requires less micro-management once all of your attacking plants are placed to beat these levels without doom-shroom. In all of these levels, I used both sun-shroom and sun-flower to afford attacking plant setups. 6-1 was beaten the same way as in the video. 6-2 took a lot longer but cactus can kill off most of the zombies with its pierce (dancing zombies are still a pain in the ass, especially trophy dancers). Fume-shrooms in the back help ease the load once balloon zombies start rolling in. Pole vaulter luck did still play a part in beating the level as too many spawning at once in the early game means an immediate restart. 6-3 can be beaten with two columns of plantern-boosted melon-pults. It's even harder in newer versions of the mod as there's a "sword" newspaper variant which can 1-shot tall nuts. With only squash as my instant kill (doom-shroom is too expensive early game and in combination with the melon-pults), too many spawning is a restart as one of these will destroy your whole lane without two plantern-boosted melon-pults. Magnet-shrooms are also a must to kill diggers. 6-4 seems a lot harder than it is. Two columns of plantern-boosted fume shrooms is actually enough to kill every zombie in the level (yes, even zombonis before they can freeze your fume shrooms at the front) and umbrella leaves protect your fume-shrooms from being taken or blown up. Thus, you actually only need 3 columns. I'm currently staring at 6-6 and dreading the whole level ahead but I'll try it and see how long it takes me to do. Yes, I am going to use the dumb strategy.

In general, level 6-4 can be easily passed by strategy "Wall-nuts-Doom shrooms". Wall-nuts blocks Pole Vaulters, magnetshroom counters Ladder and Jack-in-the-Box zombies. Zomboтш almost always goes rarely after 1 wave. They die easily from mines and Doom-Shrooms. If the situation gets out of control, blovers always helps.
