Did roofing work when I got out of college and later used that knowledge to roof my own home. It is backbreaking work and I have nothing but respect for these men.

I need a new roof and decided im going to do it myself. To many times I look at a roof and see crooked rows and it drives me nuts. If I knew a roofer would re roof my house with strait rows I would hire it out.

If you are anyone around middle TN I would be glad to give you a bid on it. My dad's had the business for over 30 years and been doing it since he was 16 and I was born into. I can't stand crooked rows either. Me and my guys don't cut any corners!

So you probably have inch and 3/4 nails and you are putting in vent Ridge. Those nails are not long enought to penetrate the roofing deck! 2 inch handbag nails are ideal for installing CertainTeed or any other ridge vent and ridge cap. Overtime those Nails will come out and then the ridge will blow off! I see you are installing Sure nail Owens Corning dimensional shingles. Homeowners make sure that your roofers use 2-in handbag nails to make sure that your ridge cap does not blow off the ridge vent :) Happy Thanksgiving be safe out there
