I feel like Rooftop Run is the perfect culmination of why I love Sonic. It's that high energy, almost rhythmic, feeling of freedom. This song makes you want to sprint at the speed of light, yet there's parts that slow down so you take in the sights, right before putting you back on the sprint. And with every hit of the drum it's like you hitting your foot to the ground in a sprint. It's just such an incredible song and an amazing level that I'll never forget

This track further proves that Sonic games are at its most fun and its best when the levels are made purely just for fun. What does running through rooftops have to do with the plot of Unleashed? Absolutely nothing. But it's there because it was meant to be a freaking fun level, and my God is it a fun level. But the level is half the reason. This track right here (and don't get me wrong, the original rock version is amazing too), effectively gives you that feeling of absolute freedom that is the one and sole reason why Sonic games are fun in the first place. This is a good remix. Aesthetics, gameplay, music, etc.

Rooftop Run is my favorite stage in the Sonic series because it's so fun to play I mean literally so fun I keep playing Unleashed and Generations Rooftop run (Unleashed more) and the music is perfect because it describes the view of the stage which is beautiful, especially when you go down the clock tower. If Sega had more stages and music like this in their games then I would pay most my money to play the stages.

***** Well, it's not like the original version *didn't* have a violin, it just wasn't as prevalent. As for the "Orchestral" part I know this theme isn't really orchestral, but with the guitar taken out (and its appropriate segments replaced with violin, piano, and pizzicato) it sounds more so than it did. I prefer the first version because it had both guitar and violin, while this one just has violin and similar instruments. Still has drums, but those don't have as much of the same effect to me. Opinions are just opinions, after all. No need to get too worked up about it.

It’s weird thinking about how a lot of modern sonic games have Thrash-esque beats, like the drum beat for example: listen to Disposable Heroes by Metallica or Institutionalized or Subliminal by Suicidal Tendencies, the beat during the chorus of the songs has a much similar speed and rhythm
