Man, Sonic Unleashed's soundtrack is super underrated, it's also one of my favorite modern Sonic games for sure. Oh and I love the use of the jazz lick on the song. Lol

This is amazing because it perfectly creates what I feel would’ve been the best route to go with the night stages in Unleashed. The battle theme is actually fantastic as a song imo but its implementation just doesn’t work well when it abruptly interrupts already great music crafted specifically to fit the environment you’re in. Similar to how Mario Kart 8 will pick up the percussion if you get a decent lead, adding some powerful drums to the night music while in combat would compliment the action appropriately while letting the songs play out. It’s kind of a shame the werehog music is a meme at this point since plenty of the night themes are straight up beautiful
