I must say that the New York Knicks did indeed go away from Bill Cartwright in this one as he picked up an easy nine points to start the game. However, it's not like Ray Williams (38), Toby Knight (27) or Micheal Ray Richardson (25) were less efficient. One ball for a whole lot of great offensive players. March 16, 1980.

Cartwright looked to be in his 40's, when he was in his 20's!

Facts him and James Edwards look like they was 52 years old in 1991 battling against each other in the ECF - guys were just more mature back then (how they looked, spoked, and how they played) - the nba used to be a GROWN MAN LEAGUE not full of crybabies like it is now

As a boy, I liked how he played. Some of his moves were smooth, not Jamal Wilkes smooth, but big-man smooth. The way he shot free throws was unique.

His Free Throw shooting form wasn't awkward on here like it was when he was in Chicago.

Bryan D That’s sad because I always admired Bill Cartwright after hearing about his speech to Scottie Pippen when he refused to go in against the Knicks because he wasn’t given the final shot in the 1994 playoffs

He actually had four stress fractures of the 5th metatarsal bone. He lost two years, two years of his prime. Interestingly enough his final year in New York neither he nor Patrick Ewing missed a game.
