This might be a bit weird, but I love when crafting youtubers show their mistakes. I feel like it lets me understand the craft in so much more depth than if I only got to see a perfectly polished and sanitized experience. I hope you enjoy your break, and I look forward to seeing your next video!

I am so sad about your new boots! As a clumsy potter, I have altered several pair of shoes, pants and aprons. I agree about the swirls in the bottom of pots. I try for the surface inside to be as smooth as possible, and I shall borrow your techniques for burnishing the insides. Thanks for sharing your artistry and talents. You continue to help me grow. Happy New Year!!🎉🎆

That metallic dark red is so cool, especially the bronze inclusions, but I just can't get over how it all looks like a gruesome crime scene when thrown haha

I went for my first pottery class last week and left with a very sad looking lopsided bowl, working the wheel is truly a difficult task. Watching you now throw a 2.5kg mass of clay is truly extraordinary, so much respect for your craft and other artists like you, I'll get there one day!

My first video of yours, and so happy to have ‘met you’! You seem like a really lovely human being and have such a gentle tone and manner; you’re lovely to listen to. It’s very interesting to be able to have insights about the process of the creation from a person who is quite expert at their craft. I am just beginning to ‘make’ myself, and am trying to access the mindset of exploration more fully; I appreciate the intentional and aware practice you bring to your experience of creation. thank you for sharing it!❤

I feel so spoiled with the amount of info and so much detail you provide in your videos. I just finished taking a beginner pottery class at uni and I would watch your videos for help and inspiration (my classmates and I would even talk about your videos while we threw haha!) Unfortunately I don’t have time to take another pottery class but I hope in the future I can come back and throw again, it truly is such a wonderful art form❤

Hey Florian, could you by any chance cut a vase or something similar in half before trimming it? l'd like to understand how much excess clay you're working with. It would be a great pleasure seeing you do that. I'm really inspired by what you are doing.

Hi Florian, thank you for all these very very helpful videos, I’m at the beginning of learning pottery. There is something I find particularly difficult, is it where to look at when I’m throwing on the wheel. I believe it is an important part as for making progress, and also for the posture. I’m not sure there is a lot to talk about that subject, but if there is, why not make a little video about it. Since we always see through different angles of the camera, it would be interesting to know where do you actually direct your gaze. Again, thanks for everything 😌

You talk like real artist not just a artisan. Love your work as in every piece there is clear vision. I see the strong influence of you Japan teachers. You have similar approach as me only in opposite way. I massage the stone to soft curves and leaving matt velvet finish, you forced the clay into strait surfaces and crisp edges and the glazes you use give so much depth to your pieces. At school i saw many pieces basically ruin by glaze almost battling with the form and not aiding it. And that spilling of the glaze is so much a artist way of thinking where we chase beauty and made sacrifices. I personally love salt glaze pottery but know how abrasive it is to the equipment.
