@Ant@youtube I guess he's more used to baseballs thrown fast at him but not very experienced having a Little League pitch (like Henry) thrown at him especially the pitcher said to Henry "he can't hit a fast ball." Plus, I'm sure Heddo never saw that Henry lost his strong arm before he (Heddo) came up to bat.

"Okay Bill Conti, I know you're an Oscar-winning composer and you've made iconic scores for Rocky, The Karate Kid and All the Right Stuff. This next project is basically a kid's fantasy about a 12-year-old boy pitching for the Cubs. No need to go that hard." Bill Conti: I'mma go even harder.

This is actually a real pitch that major leaguers have used before (with an overhand delivery, of course). The old eephus is the definition of a high-risk ball that is fun to watch when it succeeds

Absolutely correct.

the batter knew the kid had no arm left so there's no way he misses when he knows its coming though
@supersizesenpai5 ай бұрын
@@mikeid3067 Its not so much about tricking the batter in the traditional sense. Its about the hitter getting the timing and angle right. The angle of the drop when done right is shockingly harder to predict than you would think especially for a pro since it wouldn't be second nature for him to adjust to it the same way the hitter would against a more standard pitch. On top of that you have the pressure of this being a big game, its happening at night, the bright lights etc. it all contributes. 9/10 he would probably smack this ball into orbit but all it took was that 1 whiff to end the game. I watch a lot of sports and those clutch moments like this one are always mind blowing. Reminds me of the Eagles vs Giants game. The Giants had the game sown up all the punter had to do was kick the ball away from the returner and it was over. For whatever reason he kicked it to DeSean Jackson who ran the ball back like 70 yards to score and win the Eagles the game. All it takes is 1.

I love this movie. I don't know about you guys but I watch this every Febuary and March to get ready for Baseball season. Starting in February I bring out all the classic Baseball movies. Field of Dreams. Major League. Rookie of the year. The Natural. League of their own. Just to get me into the mood for baseball. This opening scene with them getting Wigley Field ready puts a smile on my face. It gets me wanting baseball to come.

@Andrew O'Mahony Perhaps people kept having their hopes up wanting to see Henry assuming he was just having temporary bad luck. Regarding Heddo, if he was put up for bat earlier before Henry lost his strong arm, he (Heddo) would have hit a homerun.
