What would you recommend to make the Germans better? I have been wracking my brain and here are a few things I have come up with. 1. Replace blitzkrieg faction rule so that instead it essentially gives the opposite team "communications breakdown", allowing the German player to put the first order dice back in the bag if it isn't theirs. 2. Another replacement for blitzkrieg could be; allowing them to fight first if they charge into melee, even if they crossed terrain. 3. Giving them a free regular hanomag transport Of course, the game could just use a rebalancing. This would do a lot to bring the Germans into a more competitive position. If LMGs or tanks become more efficient, Germans will get stronger.

I favour the approach of the british national special rules, where you get to pick your own. Rommel's cunning: something with outflanking, Panzer grenadiers: charging from hanomags, MG tactics: free LMGs for infantry, Panzer Aces: boost to heavy tanks(maybe a reroll) Gotterdammerung: free unit of folksturm or free fausts for infantry, Waffen SS: free fanatic on all infantry.... and so on

@@boltactiontutorialsbybomor3846 There are some hidden gems within the German infantry. For example the Panzer Grenadiers for +1 point per man. If in a halftrack & they are pinned they get a re-roll on exiting/mounting the halftrack therefore a re-roll for shedding a pin in these situations.

How about Late War SS as a standout unit? Errata lets them be taken as regular or inexperienced while retaining the enhanced equipment options normally locked to veteran (double LMG, 1+6 SMGs, any man can take AR, fanatics as option). Especially so for a no campaign books format, which closes off other German options for these things. StuG Escort Infantry Squad also seems of note. Besides a rare instance of regulars with lots of SMGs, their bonus rule is free except opportunity cost (assault gun and tank destroyer is very narrow in german). I’ve been tempted to experiment pairing them with a minimum strength Panzerbrigade 150 platoon because the two special rules seem to have interesting interaction. In-fact a Panzerbridgade 150 platoon kept exclusively for a pair of unkillable 2 and a half ton trucks that transport the other platoon’s units (“Units carried aboard a transport vehicle cannot be targeted directly by the enemy”) seems as interesting as it is stupid.

for me the equipment is most often a points-trap, thats why the german infantry did not get mentioned

All you need to do is take a captain and 1st lieutenant so you can Snap To up to 8 units in one turn. Great for hammering horde armies.

Id throw in some more noteworthy units for rookie-players to look into off the top of my head: Stand-Out: Puma Motorbike-MG Panzer 1 not-to-be-forgotten: Panzer 4a (a hidden gem that is a HUGE distraction to enemies, for no reason) Kugelblitz Stuh Bison/Lorraine Schlepper Panzerwerfer Drilling Brandenburgers (in certain tourney-packs that force reserves) Heavy Field Car is possibly the best transport after the 3/4 ton dodge (if you like to run 5-6 man squads like i do) Jäger (to me the jury is still out on their overall effectiveness, definitely an interesting unit though)

German Armoured cars depending on your list a BMW bike 40pts and the 250/9 closed top halftrack 90pts probably the best 2 to pick from.

Just to add the 250/9 is not closed top there is really only 4 that are closed top that being the 231 both Rad 6 and 8 versions (with 20mm turret) the 234/2 Puma and the captured Panzersphawagen P204 (F) AMD Panhard 178 armored car. everything else is open topped for the armored car slot. There is also the Panzer II Ausf L Luchs but that is only on certain selectors that you can use it in the AC slot. In fact it is the only German tank that has Recce.

@@oakleystactics579 Yes because in my Armies of Germany book 2nd edition by Warlord games and their current FAQ online, they both say open top. Don't get me wrong Easy Army is a great resource diff. when you are building list but there is a few glaring defects with it and the SD Kfz 250/9 is one of them (with the open or closed top turret mention). I go with what Warlord has as it is their game and rules to it. It also makes sense since it is the same exact turret that is on the 222, 234/1, and 251/23. But I do see where you might get confused as it says in the description enclosed topped, but in the vehicle info it says open topped (251/23) for an example. But what floors me is the 222 has the flak rule but the others with the same turret do not have that rule.

There is one other build I see a few times with Germans and that is the mechanized list where the trucks are replaced by a few SD Kfz 250 and 251 halftracks. Is it expensive yes but they sort of rush to the rear objectives ( on the opponents side) as close as possible before unloading the infantry to close the gap and get to them, to either contest or to take them. But like I said for every 2 trucks you are replacing them with a single 250 or 251.

yes that is what I term "motorized infantry", I see them as well but usually not in any top placements

Just something I picked up on due to my US military family members and both board and computer games I played over the decades went with and so I use it myself a lot.

Great vid! I see you certainly have done you research and are quite experienced. I also love that you try to change the meta with making germans strong. One point of notice, however, is that i cant find anything regarding the "Polizei tank" you are referring to. A few captured tanks but nothing with that many mg's. Where did you find this beuty?

it is the Polizei M15/42 Tank (PZ KPFW M15/42 738(I)) from fortress Budapest
