This definitely was not too long. I appreciated the points on everything. I always get worries when things get an upgrade due to the constant use case of iPhones where “oh no there’s a new one, this one won’t work in 6 months”. You touched on everything we needed. Thanks!

Apollo interfaces are stellar. Had about 4 of them over the past 10 years. Currently waiting for more plugins to go native as Reaper doesn't play well with their Satellites unfortunately. Really dig these UAD videos. One of my fav audio companies.

Oh that’s a bummer to hear. I use pro tools, logic, and Luna and haven’t had any issues with any of my UA hardware. That’s a trip.

@@markjohnstonofficialDefinitely! Never had issues with them in any other daw. I have most of the hardware versions of the plugins that I usually use, luckily. Just waiting to figure out that Moog Multi Filter replacement.

Are the DSP processors also upgraded or are they the same as in Gen 1?
@markjohnstonofficialАй бұрын
Same (I believe) sharc processors as ever. Which… I’ve watched a lot of videos of people complaining about them and I kind of get it but I also basically never run up against DSP limitations in my mixes so I can’t say I’ve really noticed an issue. I also imagine that changing the processors for their plugins could have disastrous consequences for people like me that chain units from different generations together.

@@markjohnstonofficial Makes sense! Although managing the type of processors is not hard if the software can identify the hardware. What it worries me is how future-proof they are. Their processors are already old and there's already plugins that struggle to run in the platform. I'm worry that in a couple of years they'll stop developing plugins for the hardware because newer signal processing will be too much for it.
