I've seen so many forums talk about not having diffusion in small rooms for voice overs. Your videos are causing me to second guess that.

Diffusion is a technology that can make a small room sound larger. Diffusion is often misused when people do not understand the science behind its application.

Is that good for voice overs? @@AcousticFields

@@tinylittlefilms3043 Diffusion is a tactic or tool to achieve a sonic strategy. What do you require the room to sound like. Do you want an open sound or a more focused sound. Fill out the room anyasis tab on site. Schedule a call with Dennis

Thank you! I'll do that. I think a focused sound would be better for voice over.@@AcousticFields

I'm building a double brick garage with tile roof. Dont want my guitar playing to annoy neighbours. How much worse would a zero degree boundary gutter be? ie. Both leaves of double brick same height, roof resting only on inner leaf, thin metal sheet covering the top of the bricks and a gutter on top of the external leaf. Id gain 170mm in room space but if its a noticable drop in sound reduction then its not worth it. Should I just build gutter on side and not risk reduction in performance? Or i could maybe do a parapet wall and box gutter?

You must know the noise levels in the neighborhood. The barrier you build to reduce noise transmission i9s a ratio of the inside room noise versus the ambinet noise in the neighborhood.

Achieving good sound quality is all about doing a lot of little things correctly but just as important in the correct order or sequence.

i know of a world famous studio, with concrete walls 4 feet thick, floating floors etc... that you can hear a skate boarder go by on the sidewalk..... big bummer...

We see this all the time. Density is just one material factor to consider. You must use density along with many other material types to reduce noise transmission. It is helpful to think of noise transmission in terms of vibrational acoustics. Airborne energy becomes vibrational energy when it strikes a surface. Your barrier must be designed to reduce vibrations.
