I agree that Joel’s accent makes his singing really special, but one thing that foreign singers see as a standard is to be able to sing without their accents. He wasn’t saying it was bad, rather that that is his weakest point. He probably could’ve phrased it better but I think you misinterpreted what he said (unless I’m the one that misinterpreted it)
