can you install Roon Core on this directly and not Windows?

Are you talking about their Linux distro? I think they only support a few of the Intel NUC hardware platforms specifically. I didn't try to use it for this system since I want to use the box for more than just ROON. That would be a fun project for someone though!

@@JilesMcCoy yes their linux version. I am using Roon on my Synology NAS but thinking of doing DIY Roon core on intel NUC.
