Heavenly. Roopa seems to be born for Sitar music. What a blend beauty and talent.

@@anakein Oh, I do not wish to be impolite and take names. Let me say, a good many young artists are rushing to the concert stage today who are nothing more than amateur night performers, relative to the masters of the golden age.
@Metalistforlife3 жыл бұрын
@@IsaiahSellassie clearly a man of culture. You understand the buildup is not to be rushed. It is not a Steeve Vai solo until your tea runs out later in the performance....
@atanughosal013 жыл бұрын
@@IsaiahSellassie well ... this is actually a super debatable point that will never reach conclusion. But the truth here is every artist has his/her own manifestation styles and associated challenges; and that's where the individual artistry lies. As an audience you might choose to like one and dislike the other, but that does not mean one was "golden" and the other was not. An example would probably help .. In 1971 when Ustad Vilayat Khan played Puriya Dhaneshree, he had the luxury of having dedicated audience who was willing to sit all thru the night and listen to all that he wanted to play. He was known to be a super "moody" guy who did not respect any time limits sets by the concert organizers. As long as he was in the "mood" he did his music his way and the raga manifested his way. Compare this with Purbayan Chatterjee today. You will see the difference right there. The organizers put him on the concert stage, putting a time limit on him that he has only an hour to perform, cause there is a "next" artist after him. No matter what his mastery (or artistry) could have been, the guy did not even get a chance to display his skills on stage. He is obviously rushed, and has to finish off his gig within the hour.

Roopa is in a league of her own. Unmatched by her talent which has a solid foundation; following her mentorship by great masters from a tender young age. Born to inspire humanity with her passion and handpicked accompanying musicians. Her music is enhanced by her innate beauty and expressions which resonate her usual world class performance. I’m proud of Roopa as an extraordinary exponent of Indian classical music in its finest form. Thank yo fir your inspiration and may you be blessed 👌🏼👍🏼💜 🙏🏼

Would have liked to hear more of Roopa's playing - currently, half of the video is the percussion duet. Post the duet as a separate piece for the percussion lovers or post her full performance. Disappointing as it left me feeling cheated of her performance. Thankfully, there is another performance of her Jog that is a full 45 minutes long.

Pt Ravishankar had his style of playing and Roopa has her style of playing.. You need to know a bit more of music to appreciate it.. Her speed of playing is unique and probably only pt Budhaditya Mukherjee can compare. Please listen to the others too pt Nikhil Banerjee., Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, Ustad Vilayat Khan Saheb, you will understand better, the different styles of sitar.. Wish you all the best..

You can't really compare. It doesn't work like that in the music. The styles of playing are completely different.

You're entitled to post an opinion; that's what comments are for. However, it's clear you're ignorant of what makes this music "great" or "terrible" so the comment appears foolish.
