What a great video Tyler. I love watching the enthusiasm Jesse has for hunting. My pup was 11 months old when we were hunting in ND last October. It's so much fun watching them. Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff! We're still a bit behind you with the sibling pup, but got our first backing the other day and the nose is coming along. Thanks for the inspiration.

Man....I had to laugh with the pup trying to carry that pheasant and hopping away from you. Good luck in AZ, that's a trip I hope to take.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your pup from? I'm thinking of getting a bird dog and really like the way your puppy is hunting. I'm in North Dakota. Thanks, Daniel

She came from a friend of mine in Idaho…. Not really a breeder. I also have one from Berg Brothers setters in Minnesota. They make nice dogs

@@Thewesternwingshooterpodcast Thanks. I've talked to one of the Berg Brothers. I think his name was Ben, maybe. Does your dog from them hunt fairly close, as he was telling me he puts a GPS unit on his setters when he hunts Huns and sharptails. I want a dog that hunts pretty close for roosters in the cattails.
@Thewesternwingshooterpodcast2 жыл бұрын
No, on the prairie all my dogs hunt between 250-500 yards. They all shorten up in the cattail though

How the hell do you tell the difference between a hun and a hen (pheasant).
@Thewesternwingshooterpodcast2 жыл бұрын
The size, the color, the sound they make….. they look nothing alike and pheasants are way bigger
@Rprecision2 жыл бұрын
@@Thewesternwingshooterpodcast never had a chance to hunt them, the area we hunt in SD doesn't have a population of huns
