He was a WW 2 Veteran and before that, he was a Oklahoma Cowboy. He grew up around Minco, Ada and, McAlester. I've watched almost all of your videos in the last 3 days while laid up in bed. I love cooking on an open fire with cast iron. My husband and I are building a house (with our own hands) and every time my husband asks me to make a design decision I tell him I don't care as long as I get my outdoor kitchen! My birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I've done a couple cast iron cookouts to celebrate in the past, your videos have convinced me to do another one this year! This is amazing. Cowboy Kent teaches all these youngins nowadays how to cook the old fashioned way. I'm a trucker a nomad, I have a portable stove in my rig, I can break it out n sit it on my table n cook. Im cooking a ribeye steak as we speak 😋😋😋😋. I can cook for a month on this Coleman (propane) camp stove. Stove $30.00 two cans of propane $6.00 and I'm set for darn near a month. I very rarely eat out I enjoy cooking

I roll out of my job in a -20 storage freezer about 10:30 p.m. A half hour drive home, I stopped at wallyworld NM, find a pair of good looking Angus sirloins on clearance... (gotta eat'm today). Had a nice salad w/Italian dressing, chunked up 4 colors of bell peppers, ate some of those w/ranch dressing & grilled up both of those steaks (one for tomorrow's breakfast). It is now about 3 a.m. Nebraska time & darn you if I ain't hungry again watching this!?!! s);o)

My Fiancé loves Root beer and she also loves potatoes so I figured I would make this recipe for her last night. I cooked it in the oven. I had some precooked BBQ chicken in the freezer that I heated up as the main course. It was an excellent combination! This is her new favorite way to have potatoes and onions. Thank you for sharing!

Just made this one while camping in Copper Harbor Michigan. This was the easiest one yet and one of the best ones. People came from 3 different came sites to try it. They all came back the next night for more of it. Just remember to keep the heat up.

I made this recipe this evening for supper , and WoW, what a great surprise it was ! I expected good, but it went way past good, it was extraordinary. Because I share with my dogs too, I cooked onions and garlic in the frying pan . My dogs loved the root beer potatoes too. There were no left overs.

I've made this many times now both camping and at home it's one of the best ways to have potatos. One tip for anyone down here crush your garlic really fine (just use the flat of your knife and smash it.) Then add it to your root beer and just let that sit long as you can. Crushing gets the juices and enzymes flowing from that garlic and letting that mix with the root beer takes this to a whole new level.

Never heard of root beer potatoes before, but gonna have to give this a try. Wondering if this would be a good use of leftover root beer that's gone a little flat.
