Vega"BOND" lol, the zoom-ins are hilarious. I've also encountered bugs where a favour did not clear everything on at the matching clearing, and that wasn't even a coalition game, I think the dev team is aware of the issue. Thief is so fun~

General rule of thumb for the French language - drop the last letter for pronunciation. So Marquise = drop the E so you pronounce the S. If it was Marquis then you would drop the S and pronounce it "mar-key"

Vagabond is also among my least favorite factions to play as along with the Eyrie and Corvids. The vagabond is definitely super unique for this type of game and really cool, but ultimately I have more fun when I’m managing an entire empire or civilization, so the lonely character doesn’t appeal to me. Edit: Luckily the vagabond is my boyfriend’s favorite, so at least he knows I’ll never take the vagabond from him when he plays with me.

Great video, as usual, and I like how you described the pronunciation of Marquise. You are correct about that. However, I do believe you’re mispronouncing the word “despot”. According to all sources I could find, the ‘t’ at the end is not silent. Not trying to be annoying, but just want to let you know

what faction would you recommend to a beginner in root? is there one that would be easier?

The digital version makes everything easily approachable. If you only have the base game, I would suggest either the woodland alliance or the cats. The woodland alliance is weird but once you get their rules down they have the most straightforward turns and win condition. While the cats should be familiar and play similarly to other dudes on a map or area control boardgames.

I agree. With the digital edition it always makes losing not as unfun. In a real life boardgame environment I don’t like giving players cats cause they usually get squashed and it can be disheartening and may drive them away from the game. I sometimes like to throw them as the vagabond so they can perform well And watch the game on the outside to learn the other classes

Per French pronunciation, I think you should not pronounce the T in Cat. By the way, the French word for Cat is Chat, pronounced 'Shah'.

If it’s origins are in French then I should be pronouncing it Shat spelt like chatte. I studied French in high school :) but since Root blended their faction to include English and French - the designers call it Marquise de Cat
