Hello from subtropical Australia 😀Thank you for all your wonderful, informative and truthful videos. I have learned so much from you. I always appreciate the information that you share and it seems that I can trust your gardening tips. I have learnt so much about gardening from my English mother, and father too. Even though they didn’t have any formal degrees in botany or horticulture they seemed to be aware of scientific principles in a ‘lay’ sort of way. Everything that they taught me, especially my mother, was correct! My parents when alive, would have found your gardening knowledge and KZbin channel so interesting, especially your truthful knowledge about soil, microbes and compost, and also tips on garden pests. My mother was quite an expert herself on the use ‘safe’ pesticides.🌴🌻🌳

It might be fun to do a test with rooting in water with and without a rooting hormone to see if it makes a difference.

I`ve grown Basil in winter in a south facing window in Folgers Instant containers containing hydro nutrient solution with a 3 inch net cup in the top full of expanded clay pebbles. After the plant uses a lot of the water only keep it refilled halfway to allow air roots to breathe. You can use a 10 watt LED full spectrum bulb if you have no window.

Actually Lavendar roots easily in moistened paper towels/spagnum moss/moist vermiculite but not submergerged in water. I have always found Russian Tarragon to be a real Diva at any time of the year🙄 Very surprised about the Borage. Never tried that myself. I usually try to start rooting my plants to go indoors in September but was too busy this year and missed the boat for my herbs😔

How often should you change the water when you're trying to root cuttings

I never changed it. Once rooted, pot up.

if it's fresh or new cuttings from live plants, those are easy. problematic ones are from when u buy from the market then make cuttings out of the ones u buy from a plastic packaging.
