Roots now recommends royal purple grease for there U blowers

That is correct Chris. Starting in fall of 2016, Roots started using a synthetic NLGI No. 2 grease on all of their blower models. Whether you have a newer blower with the synthetic grease, or an older blower with the clay-based grease, the best way to maintain your blower is to continue using the same type of grease you have now. The two types of grease cannot be mixed because they could separate and cause the blower to no longer be properly lubricated. Why not just use the pumper directly in the hole? Funnels use is not recommended for proper lubrication as far as contaminants. Also purging can lead to over greasing and can overheat bearings. 🤔🤝
