Rope Twist Fire Poker

Rope twist is my current go-to decorative twist, as most of my scrap stock is round. It makes a great twist on handles and pulls, because of the lack of sharp edges. I usually don’t flatten as aggressively as you did here, just for a ‘softer’ look.

Nicely done. I'm a bit surprised you didn't lose some length in the twisting process, but it almost looked like you gained half an inch or so. Magic!

Probably because flattening the bar added length, then the twist drew it back up
