😂😂😂 Yes, Emily is totally useless. She can't cook, she doesn't clean, she has servants for everything, she doesn't have a career or even a job (yeah, I know she organises social events but that's hardly a job). She wasn't even a good mother, her daughter got pregnant and ran away because of how horrible and distant her mother was. Emily is entertaining to watch, my favourite tv show mean-girl, she does it so well (kudos to the actress). But aside from that, she's an awful person.

Emily was right when she said to come home at 11:00. And she was also right when she said "she is not fried chicken". Your date should pick you up and knock on the door. And if you see that a mother cannot be a friend to your daughter. She was so mad when Rory didn't come home or call. And when Grandma was still there and saw that she didn't come home she had to wake her daughter up. Grandmother shouldn't have to wake her daughter up to tell her her daughter to come home.

Emily was teaching her granddaughter a lesson in proper etiquette, something Lorelai obviously failed to do. As a grandmother, Emily had a vested interest in making sure her granddaughter was being treated with respect. She didn't want Rory to be treated so thoughtlessly by a high school boy - that's how 16 year old girls get pregnant.
