I also never understand why there are teenagers in an adult series set on having sex at their age, especially if they are still in high school. I think Rory should have waited until she was at least 25 to be more prepared for the experience and avoid making the same mistake as her mom. Speaking of Lorelai, she contracted herself in this conversation because she actually encouraged Rory to sleep with Jess even though she is usually afraid that if Rory has sex she'll become pregnant like her and when Rory actually did sleep with Dean Lorelai was furious and called her out for following her footsteps (even though Rory did not get pregnant)

Waiting to have sex at 25 is a ridiculous notion, because the majority of people become hormonal and desire sex from a much earlier age. To ignore biology is not smart at all. When you feel hunger, you get yourself a meal, don't you? You just make sure it's something healthy and clean and safe to eat. Same goes for sex. Sex is great but it has to be right. Sleeping with a married man isn't right - and THAT is why Lorelai was mad at Rory. She said it was OK to have sex with Jess (even though she clearly didn't want her to but she knew it wasn't her decision to make) because Jess was Rory's boyfriend. I agree with you that for most people, it's better to wait until you are of legal age to start having sex because once you are a college student on your own, maybe even work, can vote etc., you tend to be more responsible. Besides, any sexual encounter can technically end with pregnancy so everyone should certainly be encouraged to wait until they could take care of the baby in case pregnancy happens. However, teens wanting sex at 18 is not something out of this world, it's normal and is just a part of life.

Part of it I think is because while Rory and Jess were falling in love on screen, Milo and Alexis were falling in love off screen! Literally Jess and Rory's journey we are watching Milo and Alexis fall in love, that's why there are so many butterflies, sparks, and chemistry through the roof. Until the writers decided to mess them up 😔 The writers were so unfair with Jess and Rory's relationship they by far had the best chemistry! Where were all the date nights, and movie nights, and book shows, even prom?! We could have had so much more, and less Dean, but noo the writers had to mess it up 😔 I'll never be over how the writers treated this relationship! @@naomidesta8226 I think Dean was never held accountable like Rory, although Lorelai apologized to Rory (which was stupid), Dean kind of came out unscathed. Dean was terrible to Lindsay and was just so emotionally manipulative which was not a surprise as he always had anger issues even in season 1. I don’t think he was affected much from the divorce or breakup because when Rory comes to his house, he complains that he dissapointed his parents and Lindsay’s parents which is more of him being worried about his reputation or how people perceive him. Dean never complained that he lost Lindsay or anything in that matter because he didn’t really love her. Unfortunately, Rory never really learnt anything though and she kept being the mistress. Maybe Rory learnt that Emily was the mistress or the “other woman” so she thought grandma succeeded so she would. No I’m kidding that’s not why Rory lets men cheat with her.

Actually he had just found out that day that he wasn’t graduating and therefore couldn’t take her to prom like he promised . He was very upset and angry and confused so he tried to ruin things with her because deep down he felt like he was disappointing her and that was never an issue before ( for him to disappoint others ) he cared and felt that he wasn’t good enough for her or realised that they shouldn’t be together and for that to happen he chose to show her to expect only the worst from him just like everybody else including himself.

I like her and Logan and her and Jess but Dean is just a bitch he broke up with her 3 times and the first one was because she didn't say I love u the second one was because Rory had feelings for Jess and the third time was just because she was hanging out with Logan ,Colin, and Finn and some other guys like why that made me so mad it's like Dean wants to be with her but he has the urge to break up with her every time it annoys the shit out of me and I honestly don't see what Rory saw I in Dean like he is kinda a bitch but anyway I like her and Logan together out of the three or maybe if she would have gave Tristan a chance maybe they would be somewhere

I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying these kinds of ships. As dysfunctional as Jess and Rory were, they did have a lot of cute moments as well. For me, the only issue is that people overromanticize Jess like he wasn't terrible to Rory while they were together and then they turn around and paint Dean as this abusive monster.

When I heard that everyone was team Jess I really expected something else than this. I don't like the way he treats her at all. It's kind of a disappoitment for me. I have no doubts he loved her but the way he lied to her and the whole drama he caused was so unnecessary. So I'm starting to think I'm not really team Jess after this episode. Coming back to Dean - I know how badly he acted later in the series but I'm only going to watch first 3 seasons, so based on this- I really liked Dean. He loved her dearly, cared about her and yes I know, he was jealous and toxic sometimes, but I felt really bad for him. This whole Jess- Rory thing is not what he deserved. I just can't see it. The public breakup wasn't the greatest decisions, neither the way he sometimes tried to control her. But I remember an episode from season 2 when he really tried to get better for her. I don't see even that much effort on Jesse's side so far. So yeah, I'm not team Dean either, I don't think I ship Rory with any of those two. My humble opinion is that Dean was a great guy for Rory's character. Yes, I do agree the chemistry between Jess and Rory is way more intense but I'm not sure about how their characters fit together. Okay if you read this all the way to here, hi:) I'd love to hear your opinion.

@@marcelapcolova1532 But how about all of the times Dean abusively yelled at Rory for the smallest things and didn’t let her explain. Also about when he cheated on his wife with Rory. Dean never had the same interests that Rory had and Dean was not smart and couldn’t keep up with Rory. One time Rory in season one realize that she needed to do a lot more activities to have a better chance into getting into Harvard. When she told Dean she needed to start planning instead of hanging out with him he got so mad at her. Dean was never nice and was always abusive and jealous to Rory. After being together 3 times and breaking up, I don’t think at all that Rory and Dean were right for each other. (In a nutshell) Jess and Rory complemented each other in so many ways and had many of the same interests and challenged each other. I know that Jess had some communication problems but when season 6 Jess was there he was definitely more mature and was now just waiting for Rory. And can we also talk about how many abandonment problems he had so what would you expect from a teenager with so many family issues? There’s no hate to your opinion but I like talking about mine!😊

@@clairuh hi!:) actually you are very right, now that some time passed my opinion...well hasn't changed so much but I think neither of them was good for her. HOWEVER i am 100% know i would absolutely hate Dean in the 4th season and adore Jess later in the series. I didn't watch after season 3 because of when I heard about Rory and Dean's character downfall. Based on the 3 seasons I've seen - I loved Dean in season 1, season 2 - well more neutral, actually kind of mad , season 3 was enough:D but I did feel sorry for him and that's probably why i said it. I originally started watching the show because of Jess but he disappointed me too in the 3rd season. Not that he was a bad person but definitely not the perfect Jess I heard about.They were better for each other, but he needed to grow up and I am glad he did later in the series...and she didn't deserve him afterwards at least from what I heard, this time. So all that I want to say is that I agree with you with all but somehow his toxic traits managed to make me more angry than Dean's and I think it's because I idealised him so much. Anyways, neither of them was a great boyfriend so I will humbly stay with my boy Dave:) haha! Have a nice dat

Trust me, season 6 Jess helped Rory out so much and the final episode that Jess was in is so sad cause you could tell that in the end Rory didn’t deserve Jess😢. We shouldn’t even talk about Logan, just - no. Haha. Take care!
