Well, that's clearly because they spent zero time on his character after season 4. They wrote him in and out just like Jake in One Tree Hill. It sucks so much because Milo & Alexis had insanely good chemistry and their characters were clearly meant for each other, but the show went on for too long and basically ruined them.

In this scene you can clearly see that she went to see him to cheat on Logan because she was angry, but there is no love in her eyes or actions, she didn't go through with it, she pulled back. I always thought (and still think) that people gave Jess too much credit for get her go back to Yale. His words did help, but it was a matter of time as well, she already was thinking on going back, she was seeing that organize parties it wasn't what she wanted, otherwise I don't think his word would have any effect on her.

I don’t think Rory ever stopped loving Jess they never formally broke up and when he came over later on to show her the book i think he was going to try to be with her again until he found out about Logan and I could tell Rory didn’t want to see Logan when her and Jess where supposed to go out. Also Jess is the only guy that Rory has dated that never cheated on anyone, Dean cheated on Lindsey, Logan cheated on Rory with the bridesmaids but Jess no one he didn’t even kiss Rory until he had broken up with Shane, he is also the only boyfriend that hasn’t slept with Rory even though he was the only boyfriend Rory ever talked about being ready to sleep with, with Lorelai. I’m like 3 years too late for this discussion and I have yet to finish the series but I feel like Jess has so much potential. He is literally the only one that pushed Rory to become better and he shows her the real world instead of the innocent life that Stars Hallow raised her in. Jess is definitely the best one out of all of Rory’s boyfriends. Dean was a cute first boyfriend but he was way too sensitive and controlling in a way. Logan was a good uni boyfriend because he helped “Ace” discover more about herself and how she wants to live but that’s it. Both Dean and Logan are like chapters in the love story that was supposed to be Rory and Jess. Jess has always gotten her jokes and he appreciates her and really sees her compared to the others. I know that I’m rambling and that no one will probably read this but I just thought that it should be known that Jess is superior compared to Dean and Logan. However, I will say that Rory did my boy Marty dirty. Anyway peace out hehe (if this sounds incoherent it’s bc it’s like 2 in the morning and I have a headache but can’t sleep ).

Rory doesn't like guys moving on from her, she has a very inflated ego which makes her blind to her own feelings. When she was with Dean she cheated on him with Jess which could be because she was just young and confused, but she strings him along and after she dropped Dean to be with Jess without a second look, she runs back to him after he got married and calls him "her Dean" completely looks down on his new relationship and has sex with him which really seemed to be to prove her point. Then she drops Dean AGAIN for an other guy Logan, (I know Dean left but he just felt she was over him like he did when she liked Jess, at least he learned...smth) and she loves Logan but she also loves his status, he is away for a moment and she plans a date with Jess, Logan feels smth is fishy and acts like a jerk, after that she goes to see Jess alone and kisses him but then tells him she loves Logan, basically now that Jess was on the way to moving on and looked more competent she had to run back and make sure he still loved her even tho she had zero plan to be with him and chose Logan. She needs to be number 1 always.

i cried during this scene. i have SO MANY THING TO SAY and SUCH STRONG OPINIONS on their relationship. first of all, when jess said "i don't deserve this, rory." I SCREAMED AT MY TV "NO YOU DON'T KING NO YOU DON'T" he deserves NONE of that. one of the things that rlly broke me was that jess thought "everything's fixed" meant rory and logan broke up, bc his version of "fixed" is rory being able to be with him. his life is so perfect, and he only needs her to complete it, but rory's "in love" (still never believing that) with another guy. and here's our mature king, going from breaking up a couple bc he knew she was in love with him to staying out of it, even tho he knows he still does love her, no matter all the crap she says about logan. jess is PERFECT. imagine having a nice gentleman who worked super hard to be where he is today and turned his whole life around and you would not be anywhere today without him and wants nothing other than to be with you, and a crappy rich guy who gets everything handed to him and doesn't care about his or anyone else's futures, and you pick the second guy. if rory was REALLY in love with logan, she wouldn't have kissed jess back, would she? and even if it was just to spite logan, that kiss wasn't just nothing. the passion is RIGHT THERE. no matter how much you might hate jess, you can't deny their chemistry. rory cheated on all her boyfriends with jess, but she never cheated on jess. she kissed jess while with dean. jess kissed her while with logan. she pulled away in both situations, but in the first one, it was bc she realized that she really was in love with jess, and then she later acted on it. in the second one tho, she was thinking of all of the great things that jess is, and that she still definitely loved him, but she made a stupid rory decision and chose logan because of money! good life! easy! and that was stupid. when she was with jess, she never cheated on him, and he never cheated on her. that just shows how PERFECT their relationship is. the writer confirmed that logan is rory's christopher in the revival, which means that he's the father of her child and he's not gonna stay and raise it with her. i think that jess is rory's luke. i think that since logan left, jess, bc he cares about rory so much, will help her raise her baby, and the more time he spends with her, the more he changes her back into her old lovable self like when they were together, back into someone who's worthy of jess. and the more time rory spends with jess, she falls more and more in love with him, and realizes that jess was always the one for her. that is my headcanon and i will NEVER not believe that this didn't happen. rory (old rory) and jess deserve to be happy together. jess can turn rory's life around like he did his. try to convince me that jess isn't meant for rory. I like Logan too, think they were cute too but the story went too far and has ended up been a total mess. Really, take a moment and just imagine Rory and Jess having another chance. Jess has the best character development in all the series and I think that this scene would have been the turning point and the perfect timing for Jess and Rory to try again, to get back together. And they would have been happy and in love. Rory would have been a successful writer and journalist and Jess would have supported her all the way. They would have had a beautiful life together. This is just my opinion. A year in the life showed how happy they could have been and how much Jess loves Rory with just two scenes. Team Jess forever.

I think she did love Logan, but I don't think she was in love with him like she says she was, she didn't even want to marry him.

So sad. Jess really thought their time was finally here. They could finally be together. Everything he was still clearly hoping for. To him her going meant something. And when she said everything was fixed. They never had their real shot to really try. We never saw them happy and thriving before it all went bad. Even in season 3 their happy moments were overshadowed by Jess’ problems and Rory’s annoying need to keep dean in her life because she couldn’t stand him hating her. Team Logan for Rory but Jess is my fav and I wanted him happy 😭
