@@oooh19 Lol the show is about entitlement though ( in a fashion). Lorelei is super entitled too. Even though they are suppose to portray a middle class ( mother and daughter). Rory has gotten everything she wanted easily because she was beautiful and intelligent. Regular guys loved her ( Dean), Bad Boys loved her ( Jess), Rich Boys loved her ( Logan and all of his mates, I think Robert and Finn wanted a shot at Rory but that is for another day, but I can name a few scenes he flirted with her). Because everything came easy, she thought that would be life but got a rude awakening when she realized in the great big wide world, she is not that special. I always loved Paris and Logan because they had major character growth, Paris faced lots of disappointments and came back from it even stronger and so did Logan. Rory never failed before and therefore didnt know how to recover.

She lives in a safe fairytale town, in a nice big house, all she's missing are the birds and the mice to dress her up while singing a song, she has millionaires for grandparents and father, and she's the sole heir. Not to mention Chillton and Yale and a car at 18. Let's face it, she's been spoilt all her life, even when she lived in a shed, since the whole town treated her like Christ Second Coming and her mother dotted on her. She never had a real problem in her life. Like, never, throughout the show, does she have a real problem. The problems she has are created by her brattiness and shallowness (like stealing a yacht or dropping out). Thats why I dislike her so much. She's the girl with no problems in life, going through it like knife through butter. Also, the absolute foolishness of this girl, she won't marry Logan, but she will become his mistress and get pregnant by him. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Despicable character.

I agree with you halfway. There was nothing wrong with Lorelai wanting to have her own life away from her parents, she felt suffocated and didn’t want to live the life her parents had for her. There was nothing wrong with her barely making ends meat. She worked hard and made a good life for herself and didn’t ask for any help from her parents. I do agree that she should have still given Rory a relationship with her grandparents. Yes Richard and Emily are snobs at times but they loved Lorelei and Rory and they didn’t deserve to not have a relationship with their only granddaughter. Even if Lorelei didn’t want a relationship with her parents didn’t mean that she should deny her daughter to have a relationship with them. At one point she has to grow up and try to understand her parents points of view. She acts really immature sometimes and so does Emily. Hope I made sense. ”

Lorelai never felt seen or accepted by her parents, and when she got pregnant, it's not like they made her feel any better about it all. Everyone wants to hate Lorelai as if the reality of her character and her experiences didn't matter or didn't even happen. And it's not like her interpretation was wrong, they are entitled, they are privileged, and they are irresponsible. I think she has every right to call someone out for being irresponsible and never having to face that. She raised her kid on her own, she took responsibility for her actions and worked very hard for a life she can be proud of and in love with. She raised a great daughter and she did really well for herself. I don't understand the Lorelai hate at all.
