I waited a long time for my first hole-in-one. It happened last year when I was 68. I couldn’t believe it. I got another two very shortly afterwards. My best golfing summer ever.

I am also 68. Never had a hole-in-one, but I have had an Albatross, and at LEAST 20 eagles. It isn't fair. My idiot brother-in-law claims four of them. My handicap is half his..or more, if he would count all his putts.

@@jameshenderson4205 - I was in the Air Force, at aged 17. Bought used clubs for $20, and played the on-base course 87 days out of the next 90. A nine hole course, and it was unlimited for $2.50 a day. Pull carts were free. I golfed 36 to 63 holes a day. I must have went around that course four hundred times. Only par five was south to north, and in Nebraska, this was the prevailing winds. My 2 was a bombed drive that rolled forever (no water on the base course..but housing area course got all the love). Second shot was a pitching wedge, that I hit short, and had it bounce on. Had to hit everything short, as the greens just could not hold anything. Went to about a 12 HC, and stayed there for many decades.

@ that’s a great story. I retired six years ago and got a membership to my local golf course. I play five days a week during the season. I don’t play weekends, too busy. Playing the best golf of my life. I won the seniors members championship last year. I’ll be defending it this year. I had a lot of personal bests too. I just love the game. Growing up in Scotland will do that.

I like him,oozing with talent. A Nicklaus interview a few years back summed it up pretty well,for me atleast. Rory needs to find the 4-6 holes on every major venue where you can make a big number if too aggressive, note it and play for the par because the other 12-14 holes are green light in comparison for a person with his length and touch

@@xslash10x I got a hole-in-one once at my local club, the absolute biggest fluke in golf history. Short par 3, bunker on the side of the green, water at the back, topped the ball and it just kept going on the fairway straight onto the green and in the hole. I’m a 26 handicap, sometimes it’s all luck, my brother looked like he was gonna punch me 😂
