No one is arguing puma are going to over value the value of a deal, there is no association between the two in the sense being discussed. the point is to stop an owner using another company he owns or is associated with the funnel money into a club as a way of bypassing the rules. The wording of the rules may need to be fixed, but you can't have financial fair play rules and not have a rule like this. if you don't want one, you don't want them both.

Talk about ignorance. The super league was an American project that was designed and developed by the Glazers, FSG, Kroenkes etc. They have admitted themselves (Perez, the head of the Super League) that Chelsea were informed and invited 7 days prior to the announcement. He has also said Manchester City were invited LAST. That means City were told about it 1-7 days before the announcement. Not only that, but Perez himself has literally said that the reason it failed was because "Manchester City pulled out and the rest of the English clubs had to follow. City didn't believe in it from the start."

The Premier League need to take some responsibility for this by allowing a state takeover, so they brought this on themselves. However from the outside looking in, all the clubs in the prem are now paying for this lawsuit, if I was a supporter of a side like Palace for example, I'd be furious having to pay for this. Will these legal fees be applied to City's FFP?! If they spend £200mil on barristers will that be taken into there finances too? So far it appears not. If City were innocent of these 115 charges then why are they now persuing this? They look guilty as sin and if they are then yes, relegation is the minimum they deserve, for me they should be out of the EFL too if guilty.

Being a Chelsea supporter, I was a little dismayed at Todd Boehly circumventing the existing rules regarding dishing out 8 year contracts on new transfers. It then came to light, that in fact, he was just utilizing an opportunity to use the rules to his own clubs advantage. The PL looked at this, did not like it, and changed the rule. Which is no different to the rules that were brought in regarding Manchester City and others wishing to get around different rules that would be beneficial to their club. The PL have got the right to adjust any rule they so wish, regardless of whether it be `legal` or not, because they wish to try and keep the product sustainable and competitive, as well as fair to all clubs. The whole ethos of FFP and Profit and Sustainability rules are in reality illegal, based on restriction of trade. So by law, those should be scrapped completely. No doubt that will be next from Manchester City, and then the whole pyramid of football would come crashing down. Rules are rules, abide by them or sell up. Manchester City are trying to bully the PL, which cannot be allowed to succeed, based on the tyranny of one.

It falls under financial irregularities. Both accusations would have been breaking the rules long before FFP was introduced, it was illegal before the PL was even created in fact. City say they have evidence that proves the allegations are false. Chelsea's new owners reported financial irregularities themselves.... That covers their own backs but it wont get the club itself off the hook, the club still cheated and it's been admitted. There are links to major signings over multiple years(how many in total is what we don't know) which in turn means there's links to multiple major honours over multiple years too('lance armstrong innit bruv'). I don't think enough Chelsea fans understand what's headed their way... And if it doesn't head their way, that would scream corruption and discrimination on the PL's part(it's been admitted). PL aside, the lack of interest, scrutiny and pressure from the UK sports media already shows discrimination/bias(call it what you want they haven't covered it anything like the City allegations) on their part. That's not whataboutery or victimhood or any excuse you want to use to make it go away... It's calling out a glaring lack of consistency in the standards they keep, holding THEIR industry to account when they flout their own rules. OFCOM are supposed to regulate/govern press standards on balanced and fair coverage(they have a duty to do this... it's a requirement, not an option) but it appears they get to push as many agendas, with as little balance as they like with no repercussions.... I think they do come back from this purely based on apathy. The past couple of years we’ve learned the allegations, and judging City’s rise it is self evident that without cheating they could never become the highest revenue generating team in the world. You’re spot on, I grew up just outside of North London and am an Arsenal fan, we barely looked at City whilst I was growing up in the 2000’s, I’m now an adult and live near Norwich, I don’t believe I’ve ever met a City fan, I don’t see their shirts in the street or in the pub. City, like PSG, are viewed as simply a brand, they’re fashionable, easy to support for a neutral. When Chelsea played them in the UCL final, I wanted City to win. The only difference between the CAS case where City were acquitted of disguising sponsorship and the PL 115 case is that the PL charges go back to 2009 before the inception of FFP. CAS acquitted City on the non time-barred charges by UEFA from 2013 to 2018 and so the difference with the 115 is from 2009 to 2013. The 115 also means that some huge international company sponsors and accountants must also have been complicit in this dishonesty, as well as people like Mancini and Toure, which is going to be extremely difficult for the PL to show. CAS decided that these companies and accountants were not dishonest.

The level of prem negligence in this case is a disaster for the premier league. They let them get away with it for too long. What people don’t understand about the allegations is that the Premier League has done its work, they can’t do anything more to ensure City are appropriately punished. Their case has been made and handed over to an independent panel which will decide upon the veracity of their claims and any punishments will be drawn from what they determine.

Stefan tried his best to separate wheat from chaff. "Several buckets" over 10 yrs, serious, grievous vs minor charges. Neither the PL or MC escape possible repercussions. The law(s), two sets of lawyers plus a commission, time and costs. So both sides will make concessions to amicably resolve. In the end, transparency and accountability have to rule decisions.

This is how I see it going down. City will be punished, but only for non cooperation. The prem need city to provide a detailed view of their books in order prove the charges, but city won't hand them over. Without the documents, the prem can't conclusively prove they cheated, so won't be found guilty of those, but they will be found guilty of not cooperating, so will be docked points. Just not as many.

The rules have been updated in 2024 from the rules introduced in 2021. The rules are targeted at related sponsorship. Under 2021 Etihad was not under related partnership in premier league or UEFA. In 2024 Etihad is now related partnership in premier league but not in UEFA. As far spending what we want. We have to adhere to UEFA fair marget values to complete in Europe. So alot of what is being said is garbage. City kit deal is with PUMA not related. yet £20 m above arsenal. Shows City can attract top commercial deals. UEFA independent valuation on Etihad only stated it was £2m above fair market valuation , for kit sponsor stadium sponsor and campus sponsor.

Relegate them to the National league. Strip the club of all their titles since 2005. The players and managers keep their medals and the titles aren't given to other clubs. Transfer monitoring for the next 10 years, where they can only spend the average spend of the league they are in for the next 10 years. Its systematic cheating IF they are found guilty. In boxing and Cycling they would be out right banned. I would not be apposed to that either IF they are found guilty.
