Maybe I'm biased but I think when you get foreign cultural influence on kpop it can elevate a singer to another level. Asian singers usually have highly skillful technique but I would say are relatively "safe" and often sound similar. Western style tends to value more rawness, emotion and unique qualities over outright technical skill. Rose' is a rare singer that has achieved the best of both worlds, no doubt gained by her Korean ancestry, New Zealand/Australian upbringing, and finally Korean finishing school. I think as kpop continues to expand internationally we will see more of this beautiful and unique cross-pollination. I can't wait. Rosé is favourite kpop singer and in my top 5 favourite singers of any genre.

she said “I'll do my best in everything that I'm told to do!” and thats what i admire about her, not just the uniqueness of her voice but her personality in general. she doesn’t do things half-heartedly, every song is a story-to-tell for her. someone said “some people can feel the rain, some people just get wet. this is rosé’s unique atmosphere” and that sums up on who she is as a singer, she’s a singer who makes u feel the overall emotion of the song. i love your reaction hope to see more rosé content soon once she covers more songs! cheers!

Rosé is from Australia...Melbourne, my home town... she barely remembers New Zealand... Believe me, her accent sounds like a suburban Melbourne girl! @@zzzzaneym1538 Rosé grew up in a fairly nice middle class suburb of Melbourne - nice big houses, wide, tree-lined streets, lots of parks and shopping areas - and went to a pretty good school. It's a nice place to grow up. It's what and where she is singing about in On The Ground, after all. Her accent is very much from that background. She speaks very carefully and a little self-consciously. She wants the listener to feel at ease. That carries over into her singing, where her diction is very clear and precise. In Australia we say that it's like we all practice in case one day we might have to speak to the Queen (of England, who is also Australia's head of state, I'm sorry to admit!) It's a charming accent and I love it.
