This song is probably about how she has left everything behind to do music. Like she says “I worked my whole life, just to get right, just to be like look at me I’m never coming down.” She’s talking to her past self and how she has somehow lost herself in the pursuit of high success. She talks about how to the outside eye, her life seems perfect yet only she knows about how everything she needs is on the ground. The last part is really clever when she writes Rosé (her stage name) on the mirror and in the flashback we see Roseanne (her real name). It shows how there’s no more Roseanne, only Rosé. Good theory and I agree so I’m going to add on, I think the part where she sings “just drove by your house, so far from you now” meaning she missed someone very dearly she had to lose because of her becoming an idol (like a childhood friend) that she drifted away from because of starting training. And the on the ground part is exactly how you described. I think the friend thing is part of her, like friends and family. And the “what comes up must come down” meaning that eventually her success will come down overtime, no one gets success and fame all there life, it’s temporary. But her friends and family will always be with her eternally.

I just want to put it here: Why ‘On the Ground’ Deserves to be the Title Track - What does it take to be a focal song? This matter is definitely subjective depending on the artist’s perspective. Now, let’s put ourselves in Rosè’s shoes. “Gone” and “On the Ground” are tracks that are both beautiful and meaningful which evidently showcase our Roseanne’s musicality. The former undeniably sounds catchy and less “confusing” - honestly! I get why many have been saying that this should be the title track. However, I don’t think we’re in any position to claim something like that. “On the Ground” is much more dynamic. It has more story to tell which Rosé could look back at and say, “I really made it.” Upon hearing BOTH songs multiple times with earphones on, I realized how Rosie must have thought of OTG as a song of freedom, ecstasy, and finality. Remember when she said that singing others’ song feels like she’s just borrowing it? Gone, although certainly gorgeous, is a song of love that could be applied anytime and anywhere and to anyone. On the other hand, OTG is Rosés. It is HERS, like a journal she’s written. It’s what she wanted. And honestly, I get why. It’s not just about vibing to the song. It’s more of story telling with the song itself. The chorus and the last part of OTG would sound nostalgic in the future, that’s undeniable. Because of its dynamic sound, it would be timeless. Rosé would then be timeless as well. That’s all! I hope we’d be respectful this time. Rosie Posie did so well!

It has bridge, no chorus with big drop and bigger ending (probably it would be dance break or something) i think this song is okey but I prefer more something like Jennies solo.
