Rosé has always been a humble, churchgoing "family" girl. When she was signed at 16, her parents flew with her to S. Korea, but when she got to the company trainee dorm and her parents said "OK, we have to leave now", the reality sank in and she broke down crying. She had never been away from home for more than two weeks. She's been training and working hard for the last ten years now. In their documentary she says that she thought that success would be so much fun but it became very difficult and exhausting, she couldn't find time to enjoy playing music so she stays up through the night to make time to play her guitar or keyboards. Love that you actually got the meaning behind the song, so many reactors thought she was singing about some guy that she missed when in reality she’s singing about herself. Rosé has always been the most open about her struggles with stardom. She loves music but gets flustered with all the additional stuff that comes with being a pop star, when she really just wants to make music. Keep up the BP stuff, you’ve got a lot of great music to still get to.

Although Rose was the main singer in the group, she was not the first member to have a solo performance until now. Rose’s humility, oneness with Jennie’s solo career and her pure heart of taking time to develop herslef is so admirable. She was never jealous of Jennie of her solo performance, instead Rose, along with Lisa and Jisoo, gave Jennie all the supports she needed to gain confidence. I always feel that amongst all the members of Blackpink, Rose is the most grounded, the most faithful one. She has her Christian faith to fall back on and always go to church regularly to pray. Rose is a very deep person and a genuine friend. Even Lisa once said that amongst the members, she is closest to Rose. They are like twin sisters. Initially when I first heard this song, for some reason, it didn’t quite click with me. But your reaction really helped me to focus on her message and that really helped me to like this song a lot more now. It’s such a deep song. I can relate the song with my own career now. My spiritual development helped me stay grounded and not to envy others for what they have achieved.

But if you really want to understand The Girls, you should watch their documentary Light up the Sky on Netflix. It's great and you will understand the reason for his lyrics.
