Rosiland Russell Brisson was one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood.... her fast talk with perfect diction could make your head spin. She was a truly great woman.

She should be in a dozen halls of fame. She made every role she did look so natural and yet she could turn actressy when she wanted to show her character's phony side. One of the all time greats for sure.

She was the epitome of attainment, grace, confidence, empathy and love. She fulfilled and lived all of the talents God placed in her.....I was privileged to see her in Mame on Broadway,,,,THE TOAST OF THE TOWN!....I will never forget it!

A true legend. Rosiland Russell. Perhaps the most attractive woman to grace the silver screen. She is sorely missed. A lifelong Republican and conservative.

every now and again these rare gems, appear in our world and light it up in such away that changes the dynamics of everything it touches.. this lady would deny and disagree with my comment, and say that everyone is special and their own light brings a special brilliance to the world, she lived her life like that. Ive known her work, but today I read up on it, and was overwhlemed by her goodness, we need more people like her who are not self centred, the world sux the way it is today, it is so self absorbed, she just showed love to people..to all. she served others, was self less and not self centred.. she was a very healthy individual.. she l had faith and she not only talked the talk she walked it and people loved her for it.

Thank you for your well written tribute. I too have had enormous admiration for Rosalind Russell for many years. It was impossible to miss her whenever she appeared in a film frame. Even when she was not on the screen she conveyed the attributes that we consider genuine and exemplary. I was beaming when she received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. One of the very best humanity has to offer.

My parents saw her live in “Wonderful Town” in New York when they were on their honeymoon. They never stopped talking about the show. I got to read her wonderful autobiography “Life Is A Banquet;”. I wish that I could’ve met her.

Me too. Such a great actress and an even better person. Her 'Aunty Mame' character is unparalleled. Other great actresses did a wonderful job too. But Rosalind Russell still trumped them all. Her fast talking and comedic timing will forever be etched in my mind. Love ya, Rosalind Russell

Agreed! Plus I finally did get to meet her. Gracious, fabulous, and she recognized me as the one who put flowers on her doorstep every year.

Beautiful tribute to a great actress and an even greater human being. There is however one mistake: Auntie Mame did not close on Broadway because she left to make the picture (which was part of her original contract) When she left, she was replaced by Greer Garson.

If u could see how terrible her childhood neighborhood is now. Her former home was a funeral home for like 50 years. Nobody would believe the history.

Yes it's a shame. Back in the day, Willow Street, and side roads all the way up to Columbia Boulevard had large homes owned by business owners, industrialists, professional people. Its been years since I've driven there

Loved her, but she was seriously, seriously miscast in Gypsy. All wrong for it: a crime it wasn't Merman. Also, the original Lawrence and Lee play "Auntie Mame" didn't close on Broadway just so she could make the film: Greer Garson picked up on the role on Broadway and made it a great success as well.
