That cake truffle recipe you use sounds exactly like the recipe I used for all the cakes I made for my kids. It’s the almond extract, once I discovered how yummy that tastes, it was my go to recipe for cakes. And everyone loves it. Tastes like old fashioned Italian Rainbow cookies.

I've had those 'type' of cookies my whole life except we didn't go full rainbow colors at the time except we called them Tie Dye Cookies. Dad would take a piece of one color on to the cutting board, take another color and smush them together and make a multicolored puzzle of sorts. Roll it out to the thickness needed, cook and then cut 'haphazardly' to get multiple colors in one cookie and different unique shapes.
