Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" is a classic and your cake did it justice. Others that come to mind from my Western Civ classes (lo these many years ago) include: Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring Fragonard's The Swing Monet's Waterlilies or Bridge paintings Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte Duchamp's Nude Descending a Staircase Dali's The Persistence of Memory And I love that you're "painting" with icing on a cake, instead of just on a canvas.

One thing about the style of art that was mentioned. Impasto isn’t a style it’s more of a technique, referring to the texture of the painting, like the visible brush strokes seen in the paint or the thickness of the paint applied to the canvas. Vincent Van Gogh’s actual style of painting was Impressionism and variations of it, like Post-Impressionism and Neo-Impressionism, as well as Expressionism.

Fun Fact: Sliced bread was first manufactured by machine and sold in the 1920s by the Chillicothe Baking Company in Missouri. It was the greatest thing since…unsliced bread?? Any other ideas?

I'm so happy ro did an art project with her beautiful skills in cake baking and decorating using the starry night, created by a Dutch artist who lived in the Netherlands, moved to France and passed there. He has such a unique way of art, interpretation of life and perspective in creativity. Absolutely proud to have him as one of our beloved artist whom originally came from the Netherlands. For a lot of things I'm happy it's him. He's such a unique one and I love his work. This gives great attention to an artist from such a small country who sadly only truly got recognized after he passed. Proud and amazed Ro! 💚💚💚
