Below is a passage from an NPR interview with a now former South Baptist Commissioner, Russell Moore related to his deep concerns about the majority of Evangelical Christians who are avid MEGA voters/supporters and why he is very worried about Christianity in general. This is stunning to say the least. Mr. Moore was ousted from the Southern Baptist Commission for speaking out on this and other issues. "It was the result of having multiple pastors tell me, essentially, the same story about quoting the Sermon on the Mount, parenthetically, in their preaching - "turn the other cheek" - [and] to have someone come up after to say, "Where did you get those liberal talking points?" And what was alarming to me is that in most of these scenarios, when the pastor would say, "I'm literally quoting Jesus Christ," the response would not be, "I apologize." The response would be, "Yes, but that doesn't work anymore. That's weak." And when we get to the point where the teachings of Jesus himself are seen as subversive to us, then we're in a crisis." Hello Jerry: It's me, a former subscriber you dubbed "extremist" checking in to see if politics disappeared from your channel. Sadly, that isn't the case. I know you don't care if someone like me subscribes or not--even though my absolute aversion to Trump/MEGA is tethered to my strong anger that he and his MEGA supporters' lies, and lack of empathy hurt children and youth under my care. It's not some abstract, distant thing on the news for me, it's been right in front of me for years. You and whoever may paint all politicians with same brush and that could possibly have some merit in some ways, but Trump is way beyond those premises.
