Might be my favorite BGM of the entire series with Days Never to Return. Season 3 and 4 were really epic musically.

Epic, sadly the final battle felt a bit rushed if you ask me.

Certainly true in some respects. Gabriel in particular had such a build-up that, at least for me, his end felt like something that was put there just to have it be there. Don't get me wrong, he got what was coming to him and I make no complaints about that, but you'd think that for such a soulless monster that seemingly exists simply to make you despise him, they'd go out of their way to give him a more satisfying ending. Hell, they could've at least given Meijiu a crack at him...

Meijiu killed Butler's sister, Butler betrayed Gabriel and instructed Richard to kill Gab. Richard failed, and Butler finished Gabreil. All that happened because Meijiu finded weakness and hit it.

Even granting that though, does Meijiu REALLY seem like the kind of guy to go about his revenge in such a roundabout way? When he first met Gabriel, he wanted to tear him limb from limb with his own two hands, and suddenly he just turns around and does this because PLOT? I don't know what the specifics are, but I've always felt that Ryukishi07 was rushed when it came to RGD's Last Season. There's just too many instances where it feels like we got a conclusion just to have it and too many loose threads that never got entirely tied up.

It's pretty messed up that meijiu killed butler's sister considering the fact that he suffered through the same shit when meixue died. I feel like ryukishi fucked up that aspect of mei's character. Perhaps it still would have worked if meijiu had taken his sister hostage and not killed her or something?

Talking about why Meijiu decided to kill Gab the most easiest way is because there happend at least two massacres 'cause of Gab's will. Maybe I am wrong and just trying to protect Ryuu's plot weakness, but this is my theory. I have read Russian version of RGD and the translation was good. In my ver. after finishing Gabriel Batler said something like "How could you do this to Ange..." and than he wasn't able to hold tears. This is almost obvious that Ange is dead. Meijiu is famous as killer, that kills by using poisions to kill silently and stealthy. It could be easy to him kill Ange even in America even if he hired someone to do this, chinese mafia in this story is OP. vn is also me and sorry if I had a bit mistakes, I'm not a native.
