With the recent passings of Rose Marie & Marty Allen, both past age 90, now all 5 celebrities here have died. RIP to all of them.

From the same people who gave you "THE HOLLYWOOD SQUARES" (featuring the same announcer, Kenny Williams), and a variation of their earlier "CELEBRITY GAME", originally telecast in color, and appearing at the time at 1:30pm(et). The "participating sponsors" for "today's show" are American Home Products {American Home Foods' Chef Boy-ar-dee, Boyle-Midway's Aerowax}, Kraft Foods {Parkay, Kraft Singles}, The Drackett Company {Drano, Vanish}, and Welch's {Grape Jelly/Jam, Welchade}...

"The Children's Doctor" with Dr. Lendon Smith (as seen at the end of this clip) aired weekdays at 2:55 PM (ET); it apparently was launched in the 1967-68 season, replacing the five-minute, Purex-sponsored "News with the Woman's Touch" which, since 1964, had been anchored by Marlene Sanders. The last I saw any reference to "The Children's Doctor" in TV listings was 1969.

This appears to be one of those three to six months ABC daytime shows that at its run during their nadir period late 1960s before their block of soaps took hold .

You know, I think the new show is almost like Lloyd's, but more laugh-out-loud funny.

I was a one year old baby. But I can witness for future researchers, that Marty Allen's fro was THE straw that broke the camel's back of squarism that year, making it more palatable for housewives.
