I'm in New York Westchester and all my rose bushes have been hit with this disease, no one even knows about it, stems and thorns all turned red . My neighbors are also all red but because there has been no announcement at all regarding this, nurseries and stores are selling infected plants.

We are so sorry to hear this, and are sad to inform you that there is no cure for the disease. In order to get rid of it you must dispose of the plants and their roots. Here is a link to a video of some alternatives to roses that you might be able to work with instead. Hope this helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z52zf2ywibJ9qNE

I live in West Virginia and my once beautiful yellow miniature rose was destroyed by this disease. So afraid now that it will spread to my other plants/flowers. Hopefully in the near future, there will be a treatment.

Research shows that this disease is only susceptible to rose plants. If you removed the diseased plant, including its roots, your flowerbed should have been rid of the disease. I live in Hickory. 45 of my rose bushes look to be infected. I'm wandering if the rose bush is killed will I be able to plant other rose bushes in the same area? Does the virus need a living host to stay alive or can it be dormant for several months? I'm afraid I won't be able to remove the roots completely. I hope there's a cure or treatment available very soon.
