For far longer than I care to admit, I thought the character T.C. in the movie sang this in real life.😂🤣😂 (He was chasing this insanely fine waitress & was actually acting out the lyrics of the song while it played in the movie.. he might of played it on the jukebox) I frickin LOOOOOOVE Car Wash!!! Richard Pryor & the Pointer Sisters were one of the best parts in a movie with a lot of best parts.

In fact he varied the name of the song from I can't get next to you to I wanna get next to you. Norman Whitfield wrote and co-wrote so many songs for the Te.ptations and then he managed Rose Royce.One gets the distinct impression that he wrote this song for that particular lead voice ,that is a feature of a great songwriter.Need I mention that his musical arrangements were always so rich.A lovely song by a legendary Motown songwriter and musical arranger. I am looking forward to your reaction to some of those songs I recently sent. Keep striking gold.
